Who's behind this

FlightDesk AI is built and run by Oleksandr Puriha, a commercial pilot with a background in air traffic services and air navigation. He holds an ICAO CPL(A) with MEP/IR rating, ICAO English Level 4, and an EASA medical certificate, and currently works in flight planning at an airline while instructing part-time at a flight school.

That combination matters for how this product gets built, not just for the pitch. Decisions about what a booking screen needs to check before letting someone assign a grounded aircraft, or why an expired instructor medical should block a booking outright rather than just show a warning, come from someone who has actually sat on both sides of that problem — as the person filing the paperwork, and as the person whose currency was on the line.

Why this exists

Most flight school software is built by teams with strong software backgrounds and secondhand knowledge of how a school actually runs day to day — reasonable people making reasonable guesses about a domain they've read about rather than lived in. That's not a criticism, it's just a structural gap, and it tends to show up as software that's technically competent but doesn't quite fit the way training actually happens: the scheduling conflict nobody catches until a student is standing at the desk, the maintenance date tracked in someone's head instead of the system, the instructor currency that quietly lapses because nothing was watching.

FlightDesk AI started from the other direction — building the tool a working pilot and instructor actually wanted to exist, then making it available to other schools facing the same gap between what spreadsheets can do and what an enterprise platform costs.
